Indian Premier League 3: Men-in-Charge |
Monday, February 08, 2010 | |
The third edition of the extravagant T20 tournament, Indian Premier League, is around the corner. There has already been quite a lot of action and controversy off the field.
A few changes have been made in the teams. A few players were auctioned in January. But it all boils down to one person in the team - the skipper. If the team wins, he is applauded, if the team loses, he is criticised. It gets down to how the skipper leads his team through the tourney. The best example was Season 1 - the rags to riches story of Rajasthan Royals - where Shane Warne led his side in 'Royal' style to lift the inaugural trophy.
Keeping that in mind this season, captains of a couple of teams have been replaced by more 'competent' skippers whereas Virender Sehwag chose to free himself from the captaincy role after a tiff with DDCA shouldering Gautam Gambhir with the responsibilities.
As IPL 3 approaches, CricketNDTV.com takes a look at the Men-in-charge of the million dollar teams that lock horns for supremacy.
