Learnt a lot from Kumble: Dhoni

MS Dhoni is a man who will be back in charge of the Indian team in less than a week.

After a roller coaster tour, he has had the chance to learn some fine lessons in captaincy from Anil Kumble, especially on how to overcome a crisis, and how to stand by your team.

Dhoni learnt a few crucial lessons that should hold him in good stead going into the 20-20 and one dayers.

Mahinder Singh Dhoni will be back to flexing his muscles at the top of the Team hierarchy, once the test series is over.

But already with Sourav Ganguly's omission from the ODI team, Dhoni has to fire fight.

Dhoni has had the chance to watch a master at work, ever since Anil Kumble took over six Tests ago. And some very crucial lessons have been on offer, man management being top on the agenda.

"Well the communication is very important. Whoever has not been picked for the side, you have to go up to him and convey the message, like what ever were the reasons and what you are thinking, that is very important," said Dhoni.

"So there should not be any communication gap between the player and the captain," he added.

On being prompted that Kumble also had to handle controversies, he replied, "Controversies I think he has handled them pretty well.

On what he will learn from Kumble, Dhoni laughingly said, "Well hopefully I would not get the controversies. Who wants to have controversies?"

Whether Dhoni wants them or not controversies are a part of the game, he has been in the firing line for not having scored enough runs, he currently averages 17 in six innings.

In Perth, though Dhoni played a crucial knock of 38 and shared a 75 run stand with VVS Laxman to set up the win for India. His mantra is simple, to enjoy the game.

"We are enjoying the game, enjoying each others success and that is very important,"

Following up the Perth upset with victory in Adelaide is the immediate goal, But ODI Captain Dhoni is busy taking down notes to make sure his team can pull off a few upsets in the one day game as well.

Dhoni has already lost deepika and he will soon loose his captaincy and ultimately his place in the indian team, coz his manipulation and back stabbing wont take him very far.

Dhoni is going the Dravid way during the Greg Chappel period. He will also learn the lesson in a hard way. Actually the root of all evil is the BCCI! Greg and Dravid were once hand in glove with BCCI in playing the dirty politics to oust Ganguly. Today look at Dravid, he himself has been dumped. Keep it up Dhoni!

One thing Dhoni clearly has NOT learn't is to choose the best team and keep aside politics inorder to make India have a chance to win the one-day series!
