Let's talk: Kumble to Ponting

Indian skipper Anil Kumble will speak to his Australian counterpart Ricky Ponting to ease the tension between the two sides after an acrimonious week of charges and counter-charges.

"It's important that Ricky and I get together and speak," Kumble told reporters here.

"We are equal partners in ensuring that cricket is played in the right spirit, and I'm sure moving forward everybody can stick to that," he added.

Ponting, on his part, said he would do all he can to make sure that his "guys are remembered as being good people as well as great cricketers."

Kumble, who was a dejected man after a string of umpiring howlers led to his side's 122-run defeat in the second Test, said the visitors have put the bitterness behind and were ready to move on.

"On behalf of my team, I can assure we will play it in the right spirit," he said.

Meanwhile, Ponting, stung by the widespread criticism of his world champion team's alleged lack of sportsmanship, said he was willing to "address" issues, which may have caused offence.

"I don't think anyone wants the way Australia plays cricket to change. Everyone likes to see a tough, uncompromising brand of cricket.

"But if there are areas in our game to improve, then obviously we need to address that," he said.

Kumble & Team India have been first class ambassadors for India. Kumble certainly means well to talk man to man with his Aussie counterpart. However, Ponting can't talk too long without uttering a four letter word. -An ashamed Australian.

The ICC should sort the Harbhajan issue as soon as possible. It is unjust to put it on hold until the Australian tour is over and bannning Harbhajan once the series is over. The International cricketing community should come forward and appeal to the ICC to be more unbiased.

Yes,its a good decision by Kumble to settle the terms with the hosts, However this should have been initiated by the Oz's since we were at the recieving end. And one could not understand the fact that Ricky is still bent upon the fact that his team has not done anything wrong even after the strong criticism by the Aussie Legends. The more we admire Ponting's game, The more we hate his on/off field attittude which makes him an unproffessional sportsman.

Now,snce everything has been settled,India should concentrate on game rather than stickng to that controversy.
